Defense Reigns Supreme In Game 7

It was a hard fought defensive battle as expected. Except this time it was San Antonio that tightened their defense down the stretch and Detroit that looked discombobulated. Billups had a poor game -- in no small part due to Popovich switching Bowen onto him on many possessions. Ben Wallace was his usual self, but the rest of the Pistons didn't step up the D in the 4th quarter. Ginobli got the to rim easily several times, and late in the 4th there was one play where it looked like Detroit just conceded him the basket and just backed away! Rasheed got himself in foul trouble again, but the Pistons still played good defense on Duncan (yes he scored 25, but was only 10 of 27 from the field). Problem was, they now had to double team him more and he found the open man (often for a 3 pointer). Rasheed played pretty well in the 4th -- maybe if he hadn't gotten himself into foul trouble he could have played enough to make a difference. But tonight was San Antonio's night. If you've been reading my comments, you know I'm no Spurs fan. And while they goofed up plenty during the series, in crunch time, during Game 7, they had enough moxie to earn the win. Hats off to them.
